I'm pretty sure I had my sources set right this time, I went through several updates without any trouble until recently with the new kernel update. Now I can no longer get X to start, it is properly configured but it's also quite dead, using the new kernel I can at least get to a console, although if I try to boot with the older kernel my screen shuts off and won't come back at all. If someone wants me to squeeze some error messages out of it, or something like that I could try to find the time. I could even follow some steps to try and fix if someone has some; however, failing that I can recover my important files from Windows and reinstall. I don't suppose there is a newer dockyard-devel iso than 2005-10-11 yet? I think this may be tied to the nvidia drivers I use. I'll try disabling those and starting up X again until there is a driver update available, I'm assuming nvidia-disable is the command to use.
