Like I said, Alpha 10 has a big Red warning dialouge. Its very, easy to get things working in commandline all you need is runlevel 1, single user mode. Then type the ole passwd, and your good to go on your root user account. As for the average user, *shrugs* I consider myself one, and I googled for the grub entry and found it pretty quick. But Ofcourse I have 4 computers. The user mangaer and PAM are being worked on right now, so Im sure that it will be taken care of.
