I manged to get these fixed some time yesterday with help from the #arklinux IRC channel, minor issues apparently. The sound was simply muted and turned down all the way on all the devices, that has to be the second or third time something like that has had me running around in circles trying to figure out what was wrong with the sound. I'm not used to having sound muted and turned down on every boot though, so I deny that it involved any stupidity on my part ;-) . The network card was simply not running. I got instructions on how to fix that and now it works too. Sorry I didn't mention anything about this earlier, I haven't yet set up my e-mail account in Ark Linux so I was unable to say anything.
