installation fears

Hello:

I am anxious to try Arklinux but have a serious fear.

I have two hard drives: the first contains XP, the second is empty and
formatted for Linux. Of course, my wish is to install onto the second
disk and have a dual boot system.

When presented with the installation options, my choice is obviously
"system install" or "express install". However, nothing on the screen
indicates that any sort of search for avalable space will be undertaken.
My fear, of course, is that if I choose "system install" the program
will just proceed to repartition my C drive. This very thing happened
once with another distribution.

Are my fears unfounded? If I proceed will I be given the option to
choose a place for installation?

I am something of a newbie and my earlier experience has left me
extremely "gun shy", so please forgive me if I am missing something obvious.

Best regards,

John Bennett
