Yes indeed they are well founded. The current alpha installer soon to be
replaced, will kill your primary hard disk if you choose system install.
Your best bet is to delete the partitions  on the second drive you want to
install to, and then run express install. It then take the un partitioned
space on the second drive and install ark. However I must caution you to
back up all important data. Since this is an Alpha, things can obviously
still happen.
