toolchain building

Hi list, excuse me if this message will be OT, i would like build a
toolchain for a old sparc station in my pentium4 station, someone could
you point me to some doc, or, will be great , some script to automatize
the building of a toolchain for cross-compiling apps for sparc on x86
station? 

Another info, where I can find some docs howto root.img building needed
for make tftpboot.image ?
