Scot,

I'm not up on all the different Sparc architectures, but I'm guessing
that the Ultra 5 isn't a 64bit processor. Either way, do you know if
there are any special hoops to jump through to get the 32bit binary to
run with the libraries installed on the sparc64 arch?

<moria:bilbo>? file /usr/local/j2sdk1.4.1/bin/java
/usr/local/j2sdk1.4.1/bin/java: ELF 32-bit MSB executable, SPARC,
version 1 (SYSV), for GNU/Linux 2.2.0, dynamically linked (uses shared
libs), stripped

<moria:bilbo>? /usr/local/j2sdk1.4.1/bin/java -version
