I tried doing a cross-platform compile from x86 to sparc a couple of different ways a little while back, had no luck. I'm holding out hope for a self-bootstrapping JDK source.

Subject: [Aurora-sparc-user] Is it possible to run Solaris Sparc apps on	Aurora?

I've been looking for a way to run Solaris JDK under Aurora. I've had a
terrible time building any modern JDK under Aurora (considering
Blackdown seems stagnant). Instead of my laboring more hours...it'd be
great if I could just download the Solaris Sparc JDK and run it under
Aurora :)

If anyone has any hints or can point me in the right direction - I'd be
eternally grateful :)
