I find so many products using Linux-based firmware and there is no way to get the code, let alone build and flash a modified firmware. In the US, there are a few organisations who do this but they don't have the resources to tackle them all, perhaps because they often can't claim costs even if they win a case. In Australia the losing party would have to cover costs, so an organisation sitting under the Linux Australia umbrella could in theory be cost neutral if they chose their cases wisely.
