Nate,
You may be correct about only seeing the release of the IPS driver in the
kernel.  We were following IBM's instructions to copy  ips.c and ips.h from
their ServRAID support CD into /usr/src/linux-2.4/drivers/scsi and rebuild
the kernel.  That has been working for us the last year and a half as we
moved from RH 7.3 to RH 9.0 using the updated ServRAID code.

I am sure that I am showing my ignorance of the whole process, but why could
you not do the same?  If that is not a possibility, are you aware of some
way I can create a bootable CD that can be used to restore the entire system
in the event of a hard drive failure.   Thanks for looking into this.
