I'm a big fan of man pages, as those I regularly tell to RTFM will attest, and I wish the BBC had space for them, but the net can help there. My position is that the BBC is a wonderful rescue tool, but that you do need to have a certain level of expertise to use it (the automotive equivalent might be Sun's wonderful diagnostic machines. It would be very nifty for a clueful mechanic to be able to have a Palm Pilot sized version of same, but no matter how much you jazzed up its interface, it wouldn't enable me to fix my car). I just don't see the point in trying to make the BBC usable by an AOLer. But that's the joy of an open source project - people can scratch their own itches. -- Niall
