What are the issues on using PVFS or PVFS2?

I mean.
The PVFS is designed specifically for HPC Clusters, so there's no need of a
SAN (Storage Area Network) or a shared device (iSCSI/FC)
My idea:
- the implementation shouldn't have limits - 256 nodes is a great limit for
a HPC system

- Not related to a specific Vendor - the integration of a SAN, generally, is
related to the vendor devices. ie: the number of nodes that can be attached
to a Storage Array. Actually only the Enterprise class Arrays are allowed to
connect a virtually unlimited number of hosts.

- Redundancy - To support the multi-path to an array can't be used "always"
the kernel module for the multipath

- to achive the limit of 256 nodes, or more, with a SAN - You can't use
FC-Switches, but FC-Director.
