Hello, Kunal.

You need to install the 'old' 2.4 kernel version of "depmod" called 
"depmod.modultils", which is in the "modultils" package in Debian. I'm 
not sure what the equivalent RHEL rpm package would be. Try rpmfind...

I don't think you have actually booted the openMosix kernel. Check your 
boot configuration, and select the linux-2.4.26-openmosix1 kernel. This 
can be done at the boot menu on Red Hat 9.0. I don't know about RHEL.

You might also have to use "/dev/MAKEDEV generic" to populate the /dev 
directory because the 2.4 kernel does not support udev. You may need to 
edit /etc/modules.conf to alias devices correctly for the 2.4 kernel.

I've done this on Ubuntu 6.06.1 LTS and it works fine with the 2.4.26 
openmosix kernel. However, the 2.4.26 kernel does not support the nVidia 
SATA drive controllers or nVidia NIC's on our new Tyan Tomcat K8E-based 
Opteron servers, so I've tried patching the 2.4.34 kernel using the 
linux-2.4.34-om1 patch as I said in my recent post to openmosix-general.

If you *really* want to do this, I recommend learning how to re-compile 
the RHEL kernel first, then try compiling openMosix from the source rpm 
you've installed - The source rpm just puts the source into /usr/src...
