Re: Got a boot error when I restarting up

The package you installed most likely doesn't know what modules to load 
for your scsi hba, chipset, drive or fs and they aren't available on the 
initrd/initramfs. You'll need to regenerate the initrd/initramfs with 
the correct modules available. How to do that depends on what tool you 
use to generate the initrd/initramfs. A debian specific mail list will 
be able to help you do this, I don't know the exact set of commands or 
what files to edit to add your hardwares modules to it and I don't have 
a debian system to check,sorry.
I do think it will be easier to use this approach than to compile your 
own kernel with all drivers statically builtin as other have suggested.
