Greetings,

Our cluster has both XEON, AMD Athlon, and AMD Opteron nodes.
All are running 2.4.26-om1 kernel very nicely.

What I have noticed, is that the XEON nodes, esp. the 3.0gHz ones,
seem to get all the load sent to them, while the Opteron 242 @ 1.6 GHz,
which is supposedly a more powerful machine than the XEON, does not
get hardly any load at all.

Is the load balancing being done solely on the basis of CPU MHz/GHz,
asssuming memory is the same across all nodes?

Is there any way to "weight" the AMD's heavier so that they get more
utilized in the grand scheme of a loaded cluster?

Am I nuts to even think this way? :)

Thank you,

Matt
