  This isn't insane at all :)

  The user-space tool "mosctl" allows you to get and set the host
"yardstick" - the value that openMosix uses to evaluate the capacity
of the host.  See;

  http://www.democritos.it/~baro/sw/man/mosctl.1.html

     getyard displays the yardstick in use.  This is the processor-speed of
     the most typical openMosix node.  By default, it is 10000 speed-units,
     representing a Pentium-III at 1GHz.


  Diddling this value should give you the control you seek.
