In the email on 2/8 I said there were floating-point errors in gettimeofday. Now I realized that this is actually a big trouble. In a simulation program, I encounter some strange floating point error. Simple calculation (+-*/) of floating point number give results of NaN from time to time. This problem was reported by ckauhaus, http://cluster.inf-ra.uni-jena.de/harpy/ticket/6. But it is not a colinux bug, it is a colinux+oM bug. If one run colinux without oM, there will be no problem. The reason could be, colinux by itself protects the FPU status properly. But somehow oM will break this protection. I guess by oM itself there should be no such problem, otherwise it should be found already. So, the conclusion is, colinux+oM 2.4.26 simply doesn't work, or could someone figure out how to fix the FPU status? There is another bug that is reported, but it wasn't applied, http://sourceforge.net/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=1199818&group_id=46729&atid=447171 Yasheng ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by: Splunk Inc.
