Do I understand you correctly as saying that
a) Quantian runs on the head node
b) you launched openmosixterminalserver, with the correct nic
c) the slave node booted, showing that openmosixserver is
running ok

And here I assume you mean that openmosixview does not show anything?
I have this to be picky at time at times. Try to 1) make sure they can really
see each other -- ping is fine as a test (and that should be a given if one
booted off the other), 2) openmosix is in fact running on both (in some cases
a simple '/etc/init.d/openmosix stop && /etc/init.d/openmosix start' will do.
With the restart the nodes should appear.
Lastly, which Quantian release? Every now and then little things need
adjustment, ie it may help to run portmapper which later versions do but
older ones don't etc pp.
