First of all, thank you for your reply.

Unfortunately, it seems all the kernels you mentioned are either 2.4.26 
or 2.4.27 (I didn't try them all, but I checked the websites of the 
projects).  We need at least a 2.4.29 kernel for our cluster.

Perhaps we should try 2.6.  Do you think it is ready enough to be run on 
a production cluster? (I'll happily live with the fact that automatic 
migration doesn't work, we never use that anyway).
