Thanks for that, thought I had just awakened in a nightmare... 8-0 Moore's Law has about overtaken Gigabit. It is cheaper than the other when we consider cabling/switches/terminations in the budget. I just had a quotation for CDN$400 a drop, not including switches, in a remote location. At that price, 3 lines for Gigabit is way cheaper than ten lines of 100 megabits/s. Real soon I need 10 gb/s to come down to Earth. I also need OpenMosix and a few other packages to stabilize on AMD64... If I am going to pay thousands for each server in the cluster, I want them to go as fast as possible. Eventually, I will live in a world without bottlenecks and retire. ;-) -- A problem is an opportunity. Using Tomcat but need to do more? Need to support web services, security?
