Hi,

Processes become openMosix unfriendly when they are heavily IO bound.

ie.
If you have a process that is constantly reading and writing to the disk
drive, then that process has to return back to its originating node to do
its work...
The more heavily IO bound the processes are will mean the process will not
migrate at all.

A quick way to find out what processes are migratable, you can use:
ompsinfo

You can also patch oM with migshm to enable migration of shared memory also
but I have never had much luck with it.

As a general rule, I try to create processes that keep read/writes to a
minimum to allow better migration and use less network overheads.

I hope this helps.
