Re: Gaming cluster

Hi,

I have never tested out gaming servers while running openMosix but
there are a few things you should remember if you plan to try and get
one working.

1) The game server started on a single node must spawn processes (1
per cpu within your cluster is a good rule of thumb)

2) The processes must not be heavily IO bound (processes frequently
writing to a drive etc can cause the process either not to migrate or
to return home on each read/write)

Use your openMosix tools to find out if processes are migratable.
