Had mail probs...please see below. John Hart WareOnEarth Communications, Inc. [email protected] Office: 843.529.0678 x116 Cell: 843.810.8434 =20 -----Original Message----- From: John Hart [mailto:[email protected]]=20 Sent: Friday, September 26, 2003 1:32 PM To: [email protected] Subject: Security Concerns Hello all, I have a security question: After loading and getting the OpenMosix kernel to run, I noticed that = many ports have opened up: Tcp: 723 Tcp: 4660 Tcp: 22 (secure shell, this is mine) Udp: 22 (secure shell, this is not mine) Udp: 5428 Udp: 239.192.0.1:1334 (I have no idea what this is going to, nslookup = shows nothing) I am trying to secure this box so that nothing except secure shell = requiring password gets in/out (this is the controlling node). When I load the = Redhat kernel (2.4.20-8smp) the only port that is "open" is 22, ssh. These = ports are definitely related to OpenMosix, so do I have to block them at my = router to pre-empt any potential problems? As Always, thanks for all the help!
