Of course, that's a way to go ...

But: as I understood in this thread, someone DID some of the work for
point 2. Wouldn't it be good, to have some common "developer's point",
to not to have to invent the wheel again and again, if you would like
to help porting the openssi kernel?

BTW: I am always confused, if I try to find current sources (stable and 
in development) and documentation.
There is this cvs repository at sourceforge, and some additional private
repositories (by Roger at least), and I did not find e.g. patch files
to the original versions, and so on ... Remark: I did not say, that all
this is missing, but, that I seem to be too dumb to understand the
systematics behind ;-)
I had (and, to be honest, still have) the dream to get an OpenSSI
version based on Gentoo, but until now I always capitulated because of
the complexity to get the needed information ...

But nevertheless, OpenSSI is a very cool project, and I am mad at
myself, that I am not able to contribute to this project.
