Just a little message to let the list know about my progress with the port of current OpenSSI to x86_64. Based on the work from John Byrne, John Steinman and others (what is this, a conspiracy of John's?). A 2.6.12 OpenSSI kernel boots on x86_64. A two node cluster has been formed. Root failover has been tested. The kernel and a Debian Lenny userland are available in the deb.openssi.org repository. See http://deb.openssi.org/openssi/dists/1.9.6-lenny-preview for instructions. Note that this is alpha quality code, it doesn't yet pass all the regression tests (some bugs in process migration at least), and unlike the i386 port it has had almost no testing. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The Planet: dedicated and managed hosting, cloud storage, colocation Stay online with enterprise data centers and the best network in the business Choose flexible plans and management services without long-term contracts Personal 24x7 support from experience hosting pros just a phone call away. http://p.sf.net/sfu/theplanet-com
