Sorry bubu send me a reply that explained his rationale but only to me,
not the deian-fr ML and I tried to find out how to forward it to the ML
while keeping it in the proper thread but failed. So I ended up sending
the MR without this message to point to, but only today. 


Mind when you reply to a bug report number only the maintainer receive
it. One have to CC everyone explicitly.

But, please also reply to the other requests from the bug reporter,
that is:

     When using apt with the command line, in French, the Summary line
   before confirmation is wrongly formatted.
   Example:
   With LC_ALL=C:
   Summary:
     Upgrading: 0, Installing: 0, Removing: 51, Not Upgrading: 0
     Freed space: 519 MB
   With locale fr_FR.utf8
   Sommaire :
     Mise à niveau de : 0. Installation de : 0Supprimé : 51. Non mis à
   jour : 0
     Espace libéré : 519 MB
   
   I would expect something like:
   Résumé :
     Mise à niveau : 0, Installation : 0, Supprimés : 51, Non mis à jour :
   0
   
   i.e.:
   - wrong translation (Summary -> Sommaire)
   - strange translation (Upgrading: -> Mise à niveau *de* :, ...)
   - strange formatting (point after numbers instead of comma, no space
   before "Supprimé")
   - grammatical error (plural for Supprimé when needed, probably the same
   for other. I did not check)
   
   
I believe that out of the missing spaces every other items are already
fine, but I am not qualified enough to answer the reporter why.
(that is why point instead of the English commas, why Supprimé is not
plural when more than one, why Upgrading becomes "Mise à niveau de ")

About Summary > Sommaire I don't understand the issue. The French
translation is already Sommaire (and LC_ALL=C is supposed to be Summary
that is English).
