I could develop in Java, though it was only a very small part of my former occupation. I tried to learn your building process, but I failed. Despite the help I received from Julien Plissonneau (I thank him very much for that), I still cannot set up a fully working environment, and I still cannot understand enough the messages on the debian-java mailing. Worse, I cannot see the discussions on the IRC debian-java channel: I tried with Polari, had some success at the beginning (a few messages sent and received), but it does not work anymore on my PC.
