That's fallacious. The truth or falsity of "if A then B" can't be
disproven with a case where not-A and B. (We can't tell that
"if exposed-to-tech, then confident" is incorrect by discovering
a case where "(not exposed-to-tech) and confident". You might as
well try to disprove "jumping into the sea makes your feet wet"
by pointing out that your feet are wet and you haven't been
to the sea.)
