I agree that these icons do not meet the DFSG.
Even worse than that, their redistribution could be considered as
illegal, as Soren has pointed out.

Michael, please search for DFSG-free icons, if you cannot (or don't
want to) create icons by yourself.

Some collections of clipart/images which are DFGS-free, where you may
perhaps find what you need:

Once you found DFSG-free icons, please document where they come from
and which is their license (or public domain dedication) in the
'copyright' file.
