There is plenty of history of single-candidate DPL elections and this is the first time anyone is questioning this. And only from people outside the project. I wonder why? People who actually contribute to Debian know her well and also know her exceptional organisational capabilities demonstrated during Debconf 23. If someone feels differently, they are welcome to start contributing to Debian, then passing through the New Maintainer process (including learning the Debian Constitution and other founding documents) and then proceeding to vote for "None of the Above" thus triggering a new round of nominations and then convincing their preferred candidates to actually volunteer for this tough and unpaid responsibility. I would not hold my breath on *anything* of that actually happening. -- Best regards, Aigars Mahinovs
