Apart from the legitimacy of the outcome, another issue is that Martínez is arguably a better fit for the role.

As another Debian Developer pointed out, Sruthi is not very active in the mailing lists, which is odd for someone whose potential new job is to communicate on them. Martínez on the other hand is very active but couldn't get nominated due to a technicality.

Of course, you are free to personally believe Sruthi is the better fit and I respect that. But given that participation in the project is considered a valuable criterion for leadership, I find it difficult to say that Martínez's inability to be nominated isn't an issue.
