Dear Maintainer,

https://www.debian.org/releases/bookworm/amd64/release-notes/ch-upgrading.html

I upgraded from Debian 11 to Debian 12 and it seems to have worked, but,
uname and MATE System Monitor continued to display debian 11. I found
references to debian11 in /etc/hostname and /etc/hosts so I changed
those to debian12. After a reboot uname and MATE System Monitor said
debian12.

I don't know if there are other places where this change needs to be
made. It would be nice if the changes could be done automatically during
the upgrade, but, at the very least, this should be documented in the
upgrade chapter.
