hi, I recently tried installling xlibs/experimental from opendoorsoftware.com It didnt work, particularly, the virtual teminals stopped working and just showed up flickering garbage. Then I tried to apt-get the old version of xlibs and all the kde stuff. (I had removed the opendoorsoftware and other experimental repositories from /etc/apt/sources.list) This was going smoothly until kdm had to restart, at which point, it give a message "Restart KDM? you can say no and restart later y/n" or something along those lines. At this point, I had the option of saying n (which appears not to work for some strange reason - I had to Ctrl-D the process because typing n had no effect. I tried apt-get various times) The other alternative was y, which meant that i was thrown back to an unusable virtual terminal as described above. I chose to stop kdm. Then my screen was unusable so i figured i could wait till hard disk stopped spinning and press Ctrl alt del to restart. Anyway now kde wont run I get this error message (from /var/log/XFree86.log) Data incomplete in file /etc/X11/XF86Config-4 Undefined INputDevice 'configured MOuose' referenced by ServerLayout 'Default Layout' Has XF86Config-4 been overriden or something? I cant figure it out. thanks
