remastering 3.4: kernel 2.6 as standard??

Hi all,

I'm remastering the Knoppix c't-Edition (3.4) with optional Kernel 2.6.
Now I want, that the default kernel will be the 2.6, not the 2.4!
How do I get this?
I'm remastering with the help of this howto:

In "Step 3: Copy the boot image" i copy the compressed kernel image from 
the CD. Do i have to do something else, if i want the kernel2.6-image? 
Where is it?
