I have been trying Knoppix 3.4 c't edition, and I have problems with usb
pendrive 128 MB (with FAT filesystem) using kernel 2.6. It is curious
that using same cd, with kernel 2.4, it runs without any problem.

Messages from xterm are:
[email protected][knoppix]# fsck.vfat /dev/sda1
dosfsck 2.10, 22 Sep 2003, FAT32, LFN
/dev/sda1: 1705 files, 32559/63728 clusters
[email protected][knoppix]# mount /mnt/sda1/
mount: /dev/sda1: no se puede leer el superbloque
(in english: it is not possible to read super-block)
(and Using root user, same message: )
[email protected][knoppix]# mount /mnt/sda1
mount: /dev/sda1: no se puede leer el superbloque
[email protected][knoppix]# cat /etc/fstab |grep sda1
/dev/sda1 /mnt/sda1 vfat
noauto,users,exec,umask=000,uid=knoppix,gid=knoppix 0 0

Messages from linux console are:
[email protected][/]# mount /mnt/sda1
SCSI error : < 2 0 0 0 > return code = 0x8000000
Raw sense data: 0x70 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x0a 0x00 0x00 0x00
0x00 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x00
end_request: I/O error, dev sda, sector 32
FAT: unable to read boot sector
mount: /dev/sda1: no se puede leer el superbloque
(in english: it is no possible to read super-block)

And, I repeat, using kernel 2.4 with same cd (Knoppix 3.4 c't), it works
perfectly.

Another thing i don't understand is why are diferent messages from xterm
that from linux console?
