Segmentation fault on boot of Knoppix-2004-05-04 with linux26

With linux26 as the boot option, and after the
"Welcome to Knoppix live Linux-on-CD!"
the CD probes the SCSI system

Probing SCSI ... megaraid.o   Segmentation fault
Probing SCSI ... a100u2w.o

and then it hangs.  Unless you count the IDE CD-burner
as a SCSI peripheral, I have no SCSI components.

Boot with the 2.4 kernel works fine.
