Dell GX270 Problem (82865g video)

Tried Knoppix 3.4 on my fairly new GX270 and could only get low res 
video. Had same problem on latest suse live cd which I had tried first. 
Can this be fixed? This seems to be a fairly well know problem with the 
following possible solutions:

a. Downgrade dell gx270 bios from A03 to A02 or possibly A01.
b. Upgrade bios to pre-A04 (must call Dell, not on their ftp yet)
c. Build this patch into Knoppix: http://www.chzsoft.com.ar/855patch.html
