Hello. On 04 July 2004, Terry Maiden wrote: > Does Knoppix need the PC and card to be in a hot-spot > for it to start scanning for a connection? Nope. It depends on the card. I've seen cards where on boot knoppix scans and sets up a wireless connection. The card I have does not do this. In fact, if I ask the card to scan (iwlist scan) for access points, it crashes linux. It has to do with broken drivers (prism2_usb). I don't know if there is a knoppix wireless card setup utility. Perhaps someone else can pipe up here. Hope this partially helps. Franco --
