Yes, I think we get the idea.

But I think that is much too minimal for ordinary users. What you
describe is how Linux was in about 1995-1996 when I first tried it,
using WMs like fvwm95. I did not think that it was a good experience
then, and with nearly 20y of development, it's worse now!
