Re: Initial Thoughts, migration from Ubuntu ahead

Hello Henri, excuse me for the bad English... I am from Hungary. (but now I
live in the USA). The GoboLinux-idea very good, this is my likely "Loved
One" distro. I wrote a book (in hungarian language) about it long time ago.
But, sorry, the latest release very obsolete, and Hisham said, that the
developers no more develop this distro, not coming soon fresh release! I
tryed create a new, cca up-to-date release, as my "special edition". It
work on my computer, good, but I am not satisfied with it, because I cannot
compile lot of programs good with the new GCC, Glibc and Ncurses. Because
this, I cannot compile new kernel, the make menuconfig not work (it need
new ncurses). Without ncurses, I cannot compile my preferred musicplayer,
the "moc" (music on console). And, I have other problem: I not have enough
knowledge to compile and install new udev!
The biggest problem in the compiling of moc and other stuf, in the new
behavior of "ld". (This is in the BinUtils). The developers of "ld" was
modifyed (changed) the behavior of new "ld". And I not have enough
knowledge, re-create the Makefiles of lot of programs (ncurses, moc, and
others).

Other programs give me not too big and lot of problems, thats work good.
Sorry, I am not a "profi hacker", just a "power user". But, I tell you,
that I not like the "userfriendly", "eyecandy" desktop environments (Gnome,
KDE...), I think, there are bloatwares, and superfluous. My preferred
windows manager is the "SithWM"... If you can create a fresh
commandline-capable new minimal-gobolinux-release, with new Udev, GCC,
Glibc, kernel, and ncurses (and mc, for trying the new ncurses...) I would
like help to you in the developing, but not in the KDE and Gnome desktop! I
like maximum the XFCE, but better any *box.  Or maybe LXDE. Or any other
very minimal window manager. I very like and preferre the commandline-tools
and programs (and ncurses, xbindkeys...).
