Refugees at your doorstep!

Greetings Goboists,

I've been looking sideways at Gobo Linux for several years.
I've been using Debian, which takes care of a lot of
infrastructure and has done a decent job of aggregating and
integrating butt-tons of software.

There are some advantages and some costs to their
engineering decisions.  Many are not wedded to the Debian
way, and some strains have appeared with the push toward a
new all-powerful init system.

So hey, as a refugee arriving on your balmy shores, I wanted
to ask about the meals served :-p

Was curious about big projects, and now quite astounded to
see the hundreds of recipes you've built. Really, that is an
enormous achievement!  Perhaps you can partially credit the
economical design of the Compile system for the lower
overhead of Gobo recipes compared the bejewelled castles of
Debian packages.

The thread on running gobo in a virtual machine is of
interest, as running under qemu (probably aqemu) seems like
the easiest way to bring up a new system.  I hope I can
install gobo in this environment, and partake of your many
years of good offices!
