why not? afaics the patch doesn't break anything and is really simple. Imo
it is less error-prone than automatically fiddling around with the dirlist
file in a cron job..

we have a simmilar patch already in glibc for supporting globbing in
/etc/ld.so.conf. This (enabling globbing in such config files) turned out
to be a good solution, i think.
