-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 | When i do "tail -f /var/log/messages" i see that rock-plug use | /etc/rock-plug/../usbfs.perm for setting permissions on the newly create | usb devices. These devices are created only if i use the cradle button | for synchronize (but this is not a real problem). This is normal behaviour for devfs. I have the same "problem" here and it is also described in most PALM-Linux-HowTos and somewhere in linux/Documentation/. | I have modified this file for setting the owner of /dev/usb.../1 to | root:users and have change the permission on 664, but i can't synchronize | under my user account (my user account is member of the users group). | If i set the permission on 666, rock-plug still use the 664 permission | instead. AFAIK, usbfs.perm is only used for initial setup. I use the following line in /etc/devfsd.d/hardware to control the correct permissions: REGISTER usb/tts/.* PERMISSIONS root.users 0660 and I can synchronize just fine.
