Note: sending 3c509 questions to '[email protected]' is more
reliable.  The 3c509 list, as well as some of the other low-volume
driver mailing lists, will be deactivated in the near future.  The 3c509
list is particularly hard-hit by spammers.

Does the driver load and detect the card?  You can run 'dmesg' and
'lsmod' to see if the driver is loaded.

The 3c509 driver has been modified, so it might be a problem in those
updates.
