Problems with the adaptec 2120s

Hi, we have the adaptec raid scsi controler 2120s with two 65GB disks
attached doing a raid 1 of 50GB and two volumes of 15GB with the rest
of each disk.

We use the aacraid that comes with the kernel 2.4.20

So what we have is:
/dev/sda --> raid of 50GB with both disks
/dev/sdb --> single volume of 15GB with the rest of the first disk
/dev/sdc --> single volume of 15GB with the rest of the second disk

The system hangs randomly with no log anywhere but we've detected that the
hangs are produced by I/O errors in our Ext3 file system.

I also have discovered that if I do 'scsiinfo -a /dev/sda' the system hangs
and the last message i get is:

Unhandled SCSI Command: 0x37
Unable to read manufacturer defect data.

That's why i suspect that the aacraid module could have somenthing to do
with the hangs.

The 0x37 command is the defect data, is that info managed by the aacraid
driver?

We've got it in a critical production environment, any help/idea would be
apreciated.

Thanks,

Ramon Acedo
