I looked in the menuconfig and I did not see an option to build ext2 into
the kernel so I assumed it must be a default. I did build in ext3.
Currently the drive is formatted with ext2.
Do I need to build in ext2 or is it by default?
Is it safe to move from ext2 to ext3 with live data on the harddrive?

Do you have ext2 compiled in to your kernel? If you have ext3 compiled in,
do you have a journal on your root filesystem?
Were you able to see it detect any partitions as it scrolled by?
