Yes that's fine.

Just run "tune2fs -j /dev/XXXX" on all of your ext2 filesystems, and leave ext2 out of
your build of ext2 or make it a module.

The only thing is after a crash, the journal has to be recovered, so make
sure you boot into a kernel that will boot on ext3 instead of ext2.

Or run an e2fsck on the device that is a year old or newer.

Also, don't forget you need the megaraid driver instead of aacraid.
