The machine we have that still experiences this issue is running a raid mirror for the boot disk and a RAID 10 volume for user data. The RAID 10 volume is the only one that has ever hung. The mirror stays active. Just thought i'd mention that if there is any correlation. Our other servers that do not have issues, (while under lighter load) are all RAID5. -Ivan -----Original Message----- From: Scott Kveton [mailto:kveton-e/[email protected]] Sent: Thursday, December 18, 2003 11:04 AM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: Dell2650/Perc 3Di: another victim > I had 2 system disk in RAID1 (mirror) and 2 single disks configured as 'VOLUME'. > Now I have reconfigured my disks from 'Volume' to 'Raid0' in Perc 3Di > setup and my proxy server is up since 3 days. > > Is it possible? Although possible this appears to fail quite regularly. We used to do the same here: 2 x disks in mirror and the other 3 x disks as volumes. Under load the machine would get the SCSI hang problem seen by other folks. After switching to 3 x disk into RAID5 haven't had the problem (but performance is awful).
