Problem using CVS Tarball on 2.6.5 kernel

Am building my own LFS (Linux from Scratch) system, and got to the
point where it boots from my  kernel and had networking support (as
far as I can tell).

Built the drivers from the CVS tarball I had downloaded a while ago,
and it appears to be v0.12beta11

Unplugging and then plugging in my Linksys WUSB11 v2.8 gives the
following message:

usb1-1:new full speed USB device using address 5
midi:probe of 1-1:1.0 failed with error -5

so it's possible I'm having a USB problem?
