The way it works, as I understand it; is the Fedora kernels actually
closely follow mainline.  Stable core (2) is resynced every couple of
weeks (this may just include bug fixes), while the Fedora development
kernel is synced nearly every day against Linus' bitkeeper repository.

So 2.6.7.1.494.2.2 will actually contain at least the bug fixes from
2.6.8-rc. It is still 2.6.7 though until Linus releases 2.6.8.
